League Cup and Charity Shield holders Ubuntu at the beach with Ocean Stars, unbeaten Hornets host Lynx , Mighty Kankungwa entertain Legends – Game week 11
15 goals in GW10 saw the league record its lowest scoring Gameweek this season with only 2 games having over 2.5 goals. Buoyed by the recent appreciation of the Kwacha and stamping out of criminals in public places, we expect GW11 to deliver a goal fest with several block buster games.
Ocean Stars v Ubuntu FC
The Cup holders will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season, succumbing 1 nil to a vibrant Citi Boys. The Charity Shield holders have been in fine form since the beginning of the season with main man Mwiza firing on all cylinders Ocean Stars have had a decent season, placed in the bottom half but fighting for every point. They lost 4-2 last week at the hands of Legends and will be looking to give Ubuntu a good run for their money and 3 big points.
Prediction: Ocean Stars 1 – 3 Ubuntu FC
Rockfield Chalala vs Bakulu
The team from Chalala has been consistent with its inconsistency, losing and winning interchangeably. They were 1 nil victors against Club M last week and will be hoping to build on that win. They face a black rhino side that is wounded from their defeat at that hands of Spartan last week. The Solami brothers will be hoping to rediscover their form that makes them the deadly double impact boys and spur on Bakulu Prediction: Rockfield Chalala 2 – 3 Bakulu
Hornets vs Lynx FC
The only unbeaten side this season, The Hornets have built up a string of victories that is making them heavy title favorites. A tough contested match against the then League leaders Palermo last week, saw the Chicago’s boys come out on top like the reds in Choma Central. That game saw The Hornets become the new league leaders and the only side yet to taste defeat. Lynx shockingly also picked up 3 points last week, their first win this season after beating the mighty Kankungwa. They certainly come into this match up as underdogs but if last week is to go by, baza faka pressure! Its 1st versus 14th at Barca Arena.
Prediction: Hornets 4 – 4 Lynx FC
Citi Boys vs Peterstevens
Both teams off a much needed 1 nil victory last week, to put both in a reasonable table standing. The defending champions are looking unlikely to retain their crown but who knows with only 10 games played and 16 more to go. Citi have seen a resurgence and top man Tim Mukuka has been the subject of much talk with many expecting the big forward to break into the ZSL soon. Tim currently leads the scorer’s charts and will be one to look out for in this game. Prediction: Citi Boys 4 – 1 Peterstevens
Jokers vs Club M
The Jokers finally received their first loss of the season, losing 1 nil to PSF. The Jokers have been a great side to watch this season, arguably the most energetic side in the season and possibly the youngest too. The youngsters will be meeting their bally’s in Club M, who also lost to a solitary goal last week against Rockfield. Kasapo and crew can beat many a team, only outdone by their own hangovers from Saturday night. This should be a feisty encounter! Prediction: Jokers 4 – 3 Club M
Spartan Spor vs Palermo Stars
A disappointing result for Yaya and team last game week, losing for the first time this season and failing to score. The former table toppers have been heavy favorites for the league title until last weekend when Hornets proved that they are human after all. They have a good chance at redemption as they meet a rather confident but shaky Spartan side, fresh from a win against Bakulu last week. Spartan are tough tacklers with Michael being a rock at the back, adopting a Ball or Man approach (in a safe way). We expect both teams to come out firing in this one. Prediction: Spartan Spor 1 – 6 Palermo Stars
Kankungwa vs Legends
Big game alert! Paul and Lawrence have a combined 19 league goals this season whilst Khuli and Mapani have 11 goals between them, landslide?? This game has guaranteed goal scorers and the game will be won by the better defence. Coach Mwape will be rallying his troops to maintain their shape in a bid to get one over Kankungwa and push for the top. Coach Danny will also be looking to get 3 points off Legends in a game that has over the years become a grudge match. Look out for goals and a lot of touch line banter as the mighty Kankungwa host the classy Legends. Queensmead 4PM it is! Prediction: Kankungwa 3 – 4 Legends
